About Kidz Kamp

Kidz Kamp Inc. History:

Mikki & her kids

After a bad experience with her 8 year old daughter in a sports camp, Michelle wanted to create a fun, safe place that her kids (and other kids) could spend their summer breaks. On June 28th, 2010, Michelle (a.k.a. Mikki) opened at the Dixie Curling Club for the first summer of Kidz Kamp.

October 1st, 2015, Kidz Kamp incorporated and became Kidz Kamp Inc.

What do we do all week?:

Outdoor Fun:

PlaygroundThe majority of the summer will be spent outside in a nearby park and greenspace.*  The children will be participating in group activities like soccer, baseball and parachute games.  We will learn about nature on some walks through the greenspace and explore our neighbourhood with local walks.

Swimming:

Mini Underwater
Mini Underwater

Your children will cool off in the local pool once per week.*  Although there are lifeguards at the pool, our ratio of counsellor:campers increases to 1:8 during private swim times and 1:6 during public swims. The Kampers from the Georgetown location are bused down to the Mississauga location.**

Indoor Fun:

If it rains or if the temperature (including humidex) reaches 36°C, we play inside.  The facility is air conditioned, so there’s no worry of it being hotter inside than it is outside! ***  Your children will make some masterpieces during arts & crafts or take part in some low-key activities and games to keep them cool.

Weekly Field Trips:

We have 9 different trips planned for the summer.  Check out our Field Trips page for details of weekly trips.  Please note that some trips are very popular and registration fills up very quickly for the more popular trips.

These field trips are completely covered by the weekly fees, so there are no hidden fees that you’ll have to pay each week.  We have incorporated the cost of the bus as well as the admission into our rates.  So the only extra money you’ll have to spend is if you want your child to bring you back a souvenir!

NOTES:

Children are not permitted to bring electronics of any kind.
©     Parents will be advised of special field trip dates and times on the Monday of
that week when they complete their Field Trip Consent Form.
*      Weather permitting:  Swimming will not take place during thunder storms.
Time will not be spent outdoors during severe heat or rain.
**  According to Ontario Regulations, all kampers that are 10 years or younger &
do not pass the deep end test must wear a life jacket while in the pool.
***  Except during outdoor field trips.  On these occasions we will try to keep the
children in shaded areas and minimize their activity.
