IMPORTANT Notice

Sadly, Kidz Kamp Inc. is closing…permanently.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your interest and support of Kidz Kamp!

Last year’s GM (of the curling club) did not want us there and gave some false and over-exaggerated information to the board of directors. Even though the GM’s contract ended early and she is no longer there, the damage (of the inaccurate information she told the board) is done. As a result of this, the board went ahead and found another use for the club over the summer and are unable to rent it to us.

We tried to find another location, and thought we had found one. But, unfortunately, that fell through and we were unable to find something else suitable in the area.

Over the past 14 years, I have had a great time spending summer breaks with you and your children. Nothing compares to the feeling of seeing those bright faces change and grow over the years. It has been an absolute pleasure watching your children grow and flourish. I have seen some of your children go from a toothless 6 year old, to a fine young adult as they became CITs and then Counsellors.

It’s wonderful to see the friendships and bonds that have been made over the years. Some people came with friends; others came without knowing anyone. But in the end, everyone left having made a few new friends. Kampers, CITs and counsellors alike have made friendships that have lasted outside of Kidz Kamp. I will always cherish the thought that Kidz Kamp was responsible for making such positive changes in your children’s lives. And also for bringing together some great young adults both professionally and personally.

I would like to thank all of the staff that we have had throughout our history of making camp a fun, safe environment for kids…especially the ones that kept coming back year after year! It’s very unfortunate that we were not able to have one last summer together…we had an outstanding team of counsellors lined up and this summer was shaping up to be our best one yet!

If our paths cross in the future, please take a minute to stop me and say “Hi Mikki”!

So it is with a huge sadness in my heart and tears in my eyes that I say, one last time:

Have safe fun!!
